About Us

Chiseldon Local History Group was founded in 1984 by a group of people brought together by their interest in the history of this area of Wiltshire and their belief that this history should be recorded for future generations.

 

We meet on the third Wednesday of each month with a full programme of speakers. We have also published a number of books including a Guided Walk Around Old Chiseldon.  We run Chiseldon Museum in Butts Road displaying a wide range of material from the Bronze Age to the present that is relevant to the area.

Museum Opening Times

The first and third Saturdays of each month (April to October) from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm.  The Museum has re-opened for 2010 with a brand new exhibition.  This year, the theme is 'Chiseldon at Work'.

 

The Museum is in The Old Chapel, Butts Road, Chiseldon, just off the A346, half a mile south of Junction 15 of the M4.

The Church of the Holy Cross,  Chiseldon
